Where Structured Learning Meets Measurable Career Growth
Spotlight Course operates from Lake Sheilaworth in County Mayo, delivering face-to-face and blended programmes that produce verifiable skill gains — not just certificates.
Every course we run is mapped against employer expectations in the West of Ireland region and beyond. We track graduate placement, skill application rates, and learner confidence shifts across every cohort.
Curriculum Architecture
Each programme follows a phased structure. Below is the full spine — from orientation through to employer-ready output.
| Phase | Focus Area | Delivery Mode | Duration | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 0 | Orientation & Readiness Diagnostic | In-person workshop | 1 day | Personalised learning plan |
| Phase 1 | Core Foundations | Blended (classroom + online) | 3 weeks | Foundational competency verified |
| Phase 2 | Applied Skills & Case Work | Project-based, in-person | 4 weeks | Portfolio piece completed |
| Phase 3 | Specialisation Elective | Seminar + self-directed | 2 weeks | Specialist skill demonstrated |
| Phase 4 | Industry Placement Prep | Mentored sessions | 1 week | Interview-ready, CV reviewed |
Your Decision Board — From Enquiry to Employment
"The phased approach kept me accountable. I never felt lost or overwhelmed. By Phase 3, I was building real things."Ciarán Doyle, Ballina — Completed Digital Skills Track
"Honest feedback from tutors, not just encouragement. That's rare and valuable."Fiona Gallagher, Castlebar — Business Foundations Cohort 7
Why Structured Phases Outperform Self-Paced Courses
Open-ended, self-paced learning has a completion rate below 15% globally. Our phased model forces commitment at each gate — and the data shows it works. Across eleven cohorts, our completion rate sits at 89%.
We cap cohorts at 28 learners deliberately. Smaller groups mean real tutor access, genuine peer collaboration, and accountability that an algorithm cannot replicate.

Our Teaching Methodology
We don't lecture for hours. Every session blends short instruction blocks with applied exercises, peer discussion, and individual practice. Tutors are practitioners — they work in the fields they teach.
Assessment is continuous, not exam-based. You build evidence of competency through portfolio work, case analyses, and live demonstrations. There are no surprise tests.
- Instruction blocks never exceed 25 minutes
- Every session includes hands-on application time
- Peer review is built into Phases 2 and 3
- Tutors provide written feedback within 48 hours
- Portfolio reviews happen at each phase gate
